- Brookings to host Fintech Regulation Forum, 2/8. The DC-based think tank will convene House Financial Services Committee Chairman Patrick McHenry (R-NC) and Senator Jeff Merkley (D-OR) to discuss how lawmakers can promote fintech innovation while also protecting consumers from potential harm. Panelists will include: Lending Club’s Richard Neiman and CFSI’s Jeanne Hogarth.
- DC Blockchain Summit, 3/15 – 3/16. In partnership with Georgetown University’s Center for Financial Markets, the Chamber of Digital Commerce’s summit will bring together representatives of private companies and government agencies to discuss recent developments in blockchain technology and regulation. The two-day event will be at Georgetown’s campus.
- Federal Trade Commission to hold third fintech forum, 3/9. The event, which will be held at the University of California-Berkeley, will focus on how artificial intelligence and blockchain technology may impact consumers and consumer protection regulations. A full schedule and other details, including live stream availability, will be announced in the coming weeks.
