I am reading, Against the Gods- The remarkable story of risk, which, contrary to what you might think by reading the title, is a beautifully written book full of fascinating anecdotes and great insights.
I came across this beauty of a quote from John Maynad Keynes:
When the capital development of a country becomes the by-product of the activities of a casino, the job is likely to be ill-done.
I can't think of a more appropriate quote to describe the most recent financial crisis.
