Senator Launches Look at Airline Fees and Data Privacy | Corporate Counsel


Rockefeller, chairman of the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee, wrote in letters to the airlines that he wants information by Sept. 5 about their customer data-collection practices and their disclosure of additional costs for seat selection and other conveniences. The letters, which Rockefeller’s office disclosed on Monday, were sent to Delta Air Lines Inc., Southwest Airlines Co., American subsidiary US Airways, JetBlue Airways Corp., Alaska Air Group Inc., Hawaiian Holdings Inc., SkyWest Inc. and Spirit Airlines Inc., in addition to American and United.
